South Australian History and Exploration
and Aboriginal Language & Culture

View of the country and of the temporary erections near Adelaide, drawn by Wm. Light

These texts are part of an ongoing project undertaken by Special Collections to make more readily available significant works on Australian Aboriginal language and culture and South Australian history and exploration that have become difficult to obtain.

The original texts have been scanned at 300 dpi, colour depth 1 bit, on a Minolta PS7000 overhead scanner, run through optical character recognition software (ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Professional), and presented as fully text-searchable Adobe PDF files. Although we have strived to match the formatting and pagination of these digitised works to their paper originals, it should be stressed that they are not facsimile editions.

Texts can be accessed direct from this page or from the individual entries in the Library's online catalogue.  All works are out of copyright and may be reproduced.  Users should however be aware that although every effort has been taken to carefully proofread the digital texts, it is possible that a few errors may remain.

Suggestions for additional works for inclusion in this project are welcomed - please contact the Special Collections Librarian, Cheryl Hoskin at cheryl.hoskin@adelaide.edu.au
