Adelaide Research and Scholarship : Schools and Disciplines : School of Earth and Environmental Sciences
Environmental Biology is a member of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and teaches and researches in animal and plant biology within a largely environmental context. Research interests are broad, from the basic science which underpins the discipline of ecology, to understanding selected roles of humans in disturbed ecological communities. Within this broad range we focus on three specialties:Ecology, Environmental Physiology and Systematics and Biodiversity. There is strong interaction between a number of groups within the School as well as other University Departments both on North Terrace and at the Waite Campus, and with other institutions, especially the S.A. Museum and the Botanic Gardens which are close by, and several S.A. Government research laboratories. Closer links are being developed, particularly with SA Museum, with a number of joint appointments and the relocation of some members of the Evolutionary Biology Unit into the School.
