Abstract: Glasshouse experiments show an increase in leaf colour and number, bud yield and thiocyanate concentration with increasing levels of sulphur in soils, as well as an increase in aphid infestation. Field experiments using potassium sulphate are inconclusive, due to the presence of organic sulphur, but indicate that cultivar and crop site may be important factors
