Abstract: We describe the development and fabrication of small-core high-NA lead silicate glass holey fibers. These fibers exhibit the lowest ever losses and highest ever nonlinearities reported for a HF in this glass. Both theoretical modeling and experimental demonstrations of broadband supercontinuum generation at 1.06 μm achieved using pulse energies of just ∼100 pJ confirm that these fibers have a zero-dispersion wavelength around 1 μm.
