A multi-channel noise radar system consists of an array of K transmit antennas and M receive antennas where the transmit signals are noise or noise-like waveforms. Two implementations whereby multiple noise waveforms are transmitted are considered. In the first approach K independent noise sources are ransmitted from each antenna. In the second approach multiple transmit beams are formed such that different sectors are illuminated by different noise sources. Matched filters for the receiving array are derived in each case and their point spread functions are derived and compared.en
