Abstract: Since coming to power in 1996, the Howard Government of Australia has managed to keep important aspects of global climate change off the domestic political agenda through careful framing and nondecision-making. In this paper I highlight four key narratives that are evident in the Howard Government’s framing of global climate change. The nondecisions embedded within these narratives have important normative implications which I will also explore.
