dc.description.abstract | A review of Drosera whittakeri s. lat. is presented, along with its more distant relative D. praefolia, and the case for recognition of the latter. Drosera whittakeri subsp. aberrans Lowrie & Carlquist is raised to specific status as D. aberrans (Lowrie & Carlquist) Lowrie & Conran. As none of the original collections appear to have survived, a neotype is selected for D. whittakeri from close to Whittaker's original collection locality. A new Kangaroo Island endemic species, D. schmutzii Lowrie & Conran, is described and illustrated. SEM micrographs of the seeds and a key to the four taxa are also provided. | - |
