Abstract: A highly robust and recyclable Hoveyda-Grubbs' second generation ruthenium type catalyst immobilised on polyethylene glycol is conveniently prepared from Grubbs' second generation catalyst. The catalyst performs ring-closing metathesis of various di-and tri-substituted olefins efficiently in dichloromethane in air. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd.
