dc.description.abstract | The treatment of patients with cancer is often accompanied by life-threatening complications caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. They are known to result from neutropenia, but damage to the mucosal barrier as well as the humoral and cellular immune defences play a significant role in various infectious complications and aggravate diverse inflammatory processes. The article describes the journey from febrile neutropenia to febrile mucositis in patients treated with immunocompromising therapy. | - |
