Women, domestic and family violence and homelessness: putting housing back in the equation

Abstract

An assessment of the current situation in Australia with regard to the relationship between domestic and family violence and homelessness for Australian women is presented. Poverty and lack of an independent income are important factors in the vulnerability of women to homelessness and it is critical to review income support levels for women affected by domestic and family violence.
