Abstract: | Meta-aggregation seeks to generate summaries to determine the value of the findings of individual studies in terms of their practical consequences. The example on barriers towards the implementation of evidence-based practice guides researchers through the main steps of the aggregative approach: the development of a question, the search for evidence, the critical appraisal of original research papers and the aggregation of original findings into categories, and further on into syntheses. We also present the Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument as an online tool that can support authors in conducting their synthesis. © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.. |
