Abstract: 9/3 Beagle Bay – some of the mission buildings, with one of the Trappist Fathers in the foreground. These buildings were destroyed last year by a local monsoon or willy willy. This brother died and was buried at the mission. Verso: Some of the monastery buildings, Beagle Bay, 1899 – 1900 9/4 Large group seated in church at the Consecration of Bishop Gibney 1888? Bishop Gibney, Bishop Salvado and Cardinal Moran indicated by crosses on photo. 9/5 Damaged photo inscribed “a happy family”, Nor’west (parents and 3 children) Verso: One of the native children’s photographs I sent to the Royal Children of our late beloved King George V when T.H.K came to WA as Duke and Duchess of York: a little packet of six child photos to each little Royal Prince and Princess Mary 1901-2 9/6 Banana and date palm trees – portion of garden at Beagle Bay with well. The Trappists have 8000 banana trees in full bearing 10 years after they had come to begin a mission there – 8 varieties of bananas including the delicious Lady Finger. North West
