Abstract: | This paper presents a piecewise-linear finite-difference model for one-dimensional electroosmosis consolidation called ECS1, based on a fixed Eulerian co-ordinate system. The model is able to account for the non-linear variation of soil physical, mechanical and electrical property and estimate the trend of electrical potential, resistance, excess pore water pressure, settlement and consolidation degree. The capacity of ECS1 is verified against an analytical exact solution. |
