Abstract
Manufacturing Lead-Time (MLT) is the total time required to process a given product through the plant. Optimisation of MLT is essential to manufacturing efficiency, because Lead-time reduction decreases operational costs and consequently increases manufacturing effectiveness. This paper analyses and presents the activities, which are required in different stages/phases of manufacturing by identifying the factors of delays and sources of wastes for both value and nonvalue adding activities and suggestions for improvements are made.
