Abstract
This paper presents a unique digital heritage resource that integrates community knowledge and user generated content through social media. Our approach allows Sierra Leone diaspora to create, share and exchange information with each other about the Sierra Leone aggregated collections composed of more than 3,000 digital objects from five UK national and regional museums and the Sierra Leone National Museum. Sierra Leone diaspora can augment the digital heritage resource with their own media content, e.g. images, videos and narrative, related to objects in the collection through social media technology based around Facebook.
