Abstract
Single source capacitated facility location problems are basic location-allocation models used in supply chain, computer network, transmission power designs and machine scheduling, amongst others. It is a constrained combinatorial optimization problem which is NP-hard. While genetic algorithm (GA) has been successfully applied to many combinatorial optimization problems, it has limited success when applied to capacitated facility location problems. This paper proposes a GA solution methodology to single source capacitated facility location problems.
