Abstract

Mesoporous materials have been recently paid much attention as bulk quantity materials with precise internal nanostructures. They have great potentials in practical applications such as catalysis, adsorption, separation, sensing, medical usage, ecology, and nanotechnology. Although science and technology of mesoporous materials seem to be matured, there should be rooms for innovation of designs and functions of mesoporous materials. In this review, we briefly introduce our recent efforts on new ideas for mesoporous materials. Mainly two examples, hierarchic layer-bylayer assemblies of mesoporous materials and carbon nanocage materials, are here described.
