Abstract

Zeolite-based membranes have received increasing attention during the last decade. In this time, significant progress has been achieved in the preparation and characterization of zeolite membranes. This progress has stimulated research in their application for molecular level separations. This review summarizes the recent progress in zeolite membranes for water treatment, including novel synthesis concepts of supported zeolite membranes, desalination by supported zeolite membranes, as well as wastewater treatment and membrane-based reactors.
