Abstract
A wide variety of problems affect the lower respiratory system. Lung diseases that are characterised primarily by an obstructive disorder, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and cystic fibrosis, are discussed in Chapter 27 . This chapter reviews other lower respiratory tract conditions and diseases, including infectious, oncological, traumatic, restrictive and vascular disorders.
