Abstract

This report is one of three that have been funded through the Equity Frontiers Capacity Building Grants. This evaluation report presents the initial research cycle and formative evaluation of the University Makes a Difference Outreach Program (UMaDOP), a University of South Australia (UniSA) widening participation program delivered in the pre-access student life stage as outlined in The Student Equity in Higher Education Evaluation Framework (SEHEEF) (Johnstone et al., 2021). The primary purpose of this research cycle is to construct a clear, testable Theory of Change (ToC), which outlines the pathways through which change is anticipated to occur and identifies opportunities for data collection. Initial recommendations are made regarding the program's design in order to better align with the identified Theory of Change.
