Abstract

This report is the result of a collaboration between the University of South Australia and Botanic Garden and State Herbarium. The project involved re-imaging spaces for children and families where play fosters an appreciation and understanding of the botanical world. The project utilises collaborative participatory research methodology to produce research evidence based co-constructed concept designs. Through a series of research workshops participants engaged in co-creation of spaces which are innovative, creative, and engaging for children to visit, to have fun, explore, be immersed in nature and thrive through play. The aim was to create spaces which encourage a diverse range of play opportunities whilst interacting with nature, to enhance their connection and appreciation of our natural world.
