Abstract
The Government Architect NSW and the NSW Department of Planning and Environment together staged this unique national design competition intended to apply, test, improve and augment the draft Medium Density Design Guide. This design competition was open to Australian-based members of the architectural and building design sector including registered architects, graduates of architecture, students of architecture and building designers. The competition took a design-led approach to the application and testing of the draft Medium Density Design Guide. The competition judging was blind, and conducted by a jury of five panelists, including the NSW Government Architect.
