Abstract

The school of nursing and midwifery at the University of South Australia Whyalla campus has conducted two initiatives to combat the difficulties of learning science in nursing. The Preparing for sciences workshop introduces students to the basic and applied sciences most important in the nursing curriculum, while the Peer mentoring program assists new students to learn from their mentor's approach to science.
