Private rental accommodation for those in society who have no other tenure choice is often a tenuous option and places many at risk of homelessness. Due to the high levels of home ownership amongst the older population the circumstances of older people in private rental accommodation are often not recognised. Consequently older people remain as one of the 'hidden' groups affected by homelessness.
