Abstract
The serrulatenol (1a), a stable diterpenoid acetal from remophilia rotundifolia, has been shown to be (13S,18R)-5,18:13,18- diepoxyserrulat-14-en-8-ol by chemical and spectroscopic characterization and by single-crystal X-ray analysis of the p- bromobenzoate . This compound crystallizes as clear prisms in the monoclinic space group P21 with a 9.112(1), b 9.743(2), c 13.423(3) Ǻ, β 102.27(5)° and Z 2. The structural final refinement of a blocked-matrix least-squares calculation converged with R 0.038 and Rw 0.041.
