Abstract

A snapshot audit was devised to describe the profile of endocrine surgeons in Australia. A questionairre was distributed to the members of the RACS Section of Endocrine Surgery. Questions included whether the surgeon was a specialist endocrine or general surgeon, their annual endocrine surgery caseload, and their opinions on surgical audits, particularly those conducted through electronic media such as PC databases and secure websites. We also collected their self assessed ability to use computers. A summary of the results will be presented as an introduction to the proposed future RACS Section endocrine audit.
