Further, the study investigated the potential immunomodulatory role of the group of compounds known as the statins as adjunctive or steroid-sparing therapy in uveitis. The data recorded provides evidence for the potential of statins in the treatment of uveitis as a steroid-sparing monotherapy or as part of combination therapy.
