However, such estimation requires experimental data input, which is often not available during the design phase of a fluidized bed. In this work, a correlation was developed based on literature and experimental data (from a cold model dual fluidized bed gasifier) to estimate the solids circulation rate at high solids-to-gas density ratios. The correlation was then validated with literature data from a dual fluidized bed steam gasifier under hot conditions, yielding maximum discrepancies of ±25%.enCopyright # Taylor & Francis Group, LLCDimensionless correlation; fluidized beds; gasification; hydrodynamics; solids circulation rateEstimation of Solids Circulation Rate from Risers at High Solids-to-Gas Density RatiosJournal article003001170610.1080/00986445.2013.8381620003442349000092-s2.0-84908178846142817Saw, W.
