This research, was based on the analysis of survey results obtained from a sample of 971 firms from Asian Newly Industrialized Economies(NIEs) that have made foreign direct investment (FDI) in Thailand between 1993 and 2006 with the approved of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). The study identifies and investigates the economic and local business environment factors in Thailand that have influenced the decisions by firms from Asian NIEs to invest in Thailand. Because the sampling frame, which draws on companies `promoted' that is approved by the BOI, was both relatively small and accessible the entire sampling frame has been surveyed to ensure a high level of accuracy and reliability in research outcomes.enEconomicsInvestments, AsianInvestments, ForeignLocational specific advantages of Asian newly industrialized economies foreign direct investment in Thailand /thesis
