The optical fiber consists of a suspended optical micro-wire surrounded by a solid jacket, a portion of which is absent to allow access to the evanescent field from the external environment. We demonstrate time-domain distributed sensing by immersing different sections of the fiber in a fluorescent liquid.en© 2010 IEEEDistributed sensingfluorescenceoptical fibersDistributed fluorescence sensing using exposed-core microstructured optical fiberJournal article002010115510.1109/LPT.2010.20601850002832296000102-s2.0-7795628564233112Warren-Smith, S.
