The ontogenetical focus of this research moves beyond the traditional mechanistic interest of biomimetics in design and engineering. The morphogenetic prototyping lab at UniSA is investigating how morphogenetic prototypes could support a designer's understanding of complex design problems in wicked problem contexts. At the same time we are interested in their communicative and experimental value in science. We therefore need to identify an appropriate transdisciplinary approach to model the development of biological systems. Three workflows to construct 5D morphogenetic prototypes using digital modelling tools from design and engineering are described here.enmorphogenetic prototypingtransdisciplinary modelsMorphogenetic prototyping: towards 5D transdisciplinary ontogenetical modelsConference item10.13140/RG.2.1.2024.9046
