Abstract: A peptide analogue of mammalian insulin-like growth factor-1 wherein form 1 to 5 amino acid residues are absent form the N-terminal. Such peptide analogue is useful in the treatment of protein accumulation deficiencies or protein loss in mammals. Normally such deficiencies are associated with cancer, cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Becker dystrophy, autosomal recessive dystrophy and polymyositis.
