From Annels, A. E. (ed.), 1992, Case Histories and Methods in Mineral Resource Evaluation.-
This paper describes the geostatistical evaluation of a disseminated nickel orebody which contains remnants of high grade vein mineralization. The problems of dealing with high grade outliers are discussed together with the difficulties of modelling the semivariograms. Methods for the validation of the variogram models are presented prior to their use in a geometrically and geologically controlled kriging procedure to estimate recoverable blocked ore reserves.-
