Composition for violin and piano: This work for violin and piano was commissioned by Ear-In for their concert series in December 2012. The work is based on research the composer carried out into the principles of Japanese garden design and their relationship to music, during a residency in Kyoto in May-July 2012. The garden that this work is specifically related to is at the Zen temple of Tenryu-ji. It was premiered by Natsuko Yoshimoto (violin) and Michael Kieran Harvey (piano), and subsequently broadcast on ABC Classic FM radio.en
