| Abstract: | Symptomatic polypoid chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) that fails an adequate medical trial responds well to endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). More aggressive (extensive) ESS leads to better clinical outcomes with polypoid CRS. Successful surgical management of the frontal sinus is the most challenging aspect of the management of nasal polyposis. In patients who develop recurrent polyps after surgery, the modified endoscopic Lothrop procedure, Draf III or frontal drillout produces better outcomes, and in some cases a cure, than standard revision ESS. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. |
