Abstract

The sol-gel autocombustion preparation is used to synthesize La1-xBaxFeO3 (x = 0-0.25) nanoparticles, and the effect of Ba2+ doping amount is investigated. For the purpose of analysis, it is found that the perovskite orthorhombic structure of LaFeO3 did not change with increasing doping amounts of Ba2+ ions. The space group is still Pnma (62). The X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra show the BaCO3 second phase when x ≥ 0.15. In addition, Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) confirms the antisymmetric stretching vibration in the Fe-O-Fe bond of the octahedron FeO6. Furthermore, vibrating sample magnetometer measurements show that the amount of Ba2+ dopants can improve the magnetic properties of the sample. The magnetic properties of the samples can also be greatly influenced by the calcination temperature
