| dc.description.abstract | An important component of a well functioning prevention system is the capacity to respond to early identification of abuse and neglect. We know that child physical abuse is more easily detected and substantiated than is child neglect. As a result child neglect can go unreported or unsubstantiated until the cumulative effects of neglect have developed into a chronic and severe state. In this issue, we present four recent articles that explore a variety of dimensions of the problem of cumulative harm. | |
