Abstract
This thesis addresses an emerging issue in management studies in general and in the knowledge management field in particular. In a fast-changing technological and socially-networked environment, service-business organizations face ever increasing pressure to keep pace with competitors by adopting the latest innovative product and service. The sharing of our knowledge and resource as a competitive edge is questioned. Competitive advantage, in terms of resources/capabilities helps an organization uncover its market potential and generate new ideas. Results of this empirical study show that in order for employees to acquire new knowledge, skill and competency through trust relationship, a network setting is optimal. Therefore, to achieve positive competitive advantage and organizational performance outcome, employees must internalize and consolidate learning goals through knowledge-sharing.
