Abstract

A sequence of Adelaidean sediments was studied with special attention given to the Sturtian glaciation. Detailed field and geochemical studies favour essentially a marine glacial depositional environment for the Yudnamutana Sub-Group sediments. Contemporaneous faulting, primarily by the Hamilton Fault during deposition of the Yudnamutana Sub-Group, is evident from the field and geochemical studies. The geochemical data is discussed in the light of previous geochemical studies throughout the world on similar sediments to those found in this study.
