Abstract
In 2002-03 the real estate industry (including both sales and rentals) in Australia employed 76,000 people and generated seven point five billion in revenue, equivalent to 0.6% of Australia's gross domestic product. While the real estate industry is an integral part of the Australian economy it is a highly under researched field.
