Abstract

Job ernbeddedness (JE) refers to the way individuals rnay become enmeshed in a network of relationships (Mitchell, Holtom & Lee 2001). It focuses on retention through the attachments(or links) individuals make within and outside organizations and how well they fit in organizations and communities as well as the sacrifices they would make were they to leave their organizations and communities. Literature has investigated embeddedness as the aggregate of the links, fit and sacrifice that individuals experience in organizations (on-the-JE) and in thecommunity (off-the-JE).
