Abstract
Describes a study which assessed the periodontal status of a sample of 392 men aged 50 and above with respect to aspirin intake and smoking history. Significant age effects were found on periodontal attachment loss (PAL) but these were of small magnitude in comparison to the significant influences that aspirin and ex-smoking had on PAL
