Abstract

Wool market access strategy for China has the following components: * definition and promotion in APEC of a WTO entry program for China activity in APEC to accelerate and monitor MFA reform * a commitment by Australia to review its textile and clothing industry policy * the use of Australian aid programs to evaluate income stabilisation options in pastoral China * discussion with China on the design of China's foreign investment regime for textiles and clothing in particular * multi-sectoral analysis of routes to China's objectives of food and fibre supply security. * an initiative with China to secure these and other related trade interests, consistent with principles which will facilitate China's entry to the WTO.
