dc.description.abstractA new pulsed spectroscopic technique combines optical heterodyne detection with frequency binning. Its utility is demonstrated via Doppler-free two-photon excitation in cesium using an injection-seeded pulsed optical parametric oscillator, operated close to the Fourier-transform limit.
