dc.description.abstractThis paper investigates the control and performance of a low-cost 6kW interior permanent magnet alternator operating with a switched-mode rectifier and a controller to produce a regulated output voltage. A closed-loop controller was designed based on the system's open-loop characteristics and was implemented. The performance of the closed-loop system was evaluated and measured voltage regulation and transient overvoltage suppression results are presented.
