Abstract

This paper studies the problem of adaptive waveform selection for target tracking by a multistatic radar system consisting of a dedicated transmitter and multiple receivers. The transmitted waveforms are selected to minimize the tracking mean square error by minimizing a tracking cost function obtained using the Cram'er-Rao lower bound of radar estimates. The superior performance of the proposed adaptive waveform selection algorithm over conventional waveforms is illustrated with simulation examples
