Abstract

This paper considers the problem of ℋ<inf>∞</inf> filtering for nonlinear sampled-data systems. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of filters that guarantee the ℒ<inf>2</inf> gain from an exogenous input to an estimation error is less than or equal to a prescribed value. These conditions are expressed in terms of both continuous and discrete Hamilton-Jacobi equations. © 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
