Description
The place-names recorded at first contact (i.e. from the beginning of contact up to about 1850) show a clear demarcation of language between the lands northwest and southeast of the range at that time: Kaurna language to the northwest,1 and Ramindjeri-Ngarrindjeri language to the southeast.
