Abstract
Given the Chamber of Manufactures' involvement in the Adelaide Jubilee International Exhibition in 1887- 88, coupled with parallel moves to form a School of Mines and Industries following the Exhibition, it is not surprising that a Technological Museum was established in association with the School and based in the Exhibition Building. The Chamber also had its own space in the Eastern Annexe for its office and museum collections. The new institution was formally named The South Australian School of Mines and Industries and Technological Museum. Exhibits in the possession of the Chamber were handed over to establish the Technological Museum.
