| dc.description.abstract | This book has been structured into three main thematic parts: Aspects of mobility for networked learning in a global world, Use and misuse of algorithms and learning analytics and Understanding and empowering learners. The three parts were preceded by a first chapter reporting on a study of the contribution of the Networked Learning Conference (NLC) to the development of networked learning as an area of scholarship and research. The parts were set in relief by a final chapter humorously reflecting how the field and practice of networked learning research might be characterised through parody of the structure, strategies and tropes in its literature. The two chapters ‘flanking’ the thematic parts of the book provide a reflective perspective on the development and current state of networked learning.In this concluding chapter, we pick up on the reflective perspective. Our aim is to point from the present state to issues emerging for the future. We start in the first section with an overview of the focus areas and main claims presented by the chapters in this book. In the second section of the chapter, this overview is used to identify questions, potentials and challenges for future research and practice within networked learning. | |
